These terms are an agreement between you and MyliusTech LLC ("MyliusTech", "we", "us") for your use of Paperstead: the web app, the desktop and mobile apps, the browser extension and this website (together, "Paperstead"). By using Paperstead you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Paperstead.
1. Using Paperstead
You can use Paperstead without an account; your notes are then stored only on your device. Some features (sync across devices, sharing and cloud backup) require an account and, except when someone shares a note with you, a Premium subscription. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details, your devices and your recovery key safe, and for everything done through your account.
2. Your content
You own what you put in Paperstead. You give us only the permission we need to store, sync and deliver your content to your devices and to the people you share it with. Synced content is end-to-end encrypted; see the Privacy Policy for details, including the optional Standard protection mode, in which we keep a key backup.
Keep your own backups of anything important. You can export all your notes from Settings at any time.
3. Encryption and lost keys
With Maximum privacy protection, only your devices and your 24-word recovery key can unlock your synced notes. If you lose access to all of them, we cannot recover your notes. Notes stored only on a device are lost if that device or its app data is lost. We are not responsible for content you can no longer access because keys, devices or local data were lost.
4. Premium subscriptions
- Premium is a paid, auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly through the App Store, Google Play or our web checkout. Prices are shown before you buy and may differ by region and store.
- Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or with the manage-subscription link in your receipt for web purchases; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought from. For web purchases, contact us.
- People you invite to a note can edit it with you without their own subscription while you remain subscribed.
- If Premium ends, your notes stay on your devices and in the app, but they stop syncing and shared notes may stop updating for other people.
- We may change prices with advance notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
5. Sharing
When you share a note, the people you share with can see it and, if you allow it, edit it. Anyone holding a share link can join the note until you revoke the link or it expires. You are responsible for what you share and with whom.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Paperstead to break the law, infringe others' rights, harass people, distribute malware, or try to access accounts or data that aren't yours. Don't interfere with or overload the service, or try to get around its limits or security. We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these rules.
7. The service
We work to keep Paperstead available and reliable, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering sync, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your notes.
Paperstead's software, name and logo belong to MyliusTech. Third-party components are used under their own licences.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Paperstead at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as disclaimers and limits of liability, continue to apply.
9. Disclaimers
Paperstead is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, MyliusTech will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Paperstead is limited to the amount you paid us for Paperstead in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50, whichever is greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE — to be confirmed], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
12. App stores
If you got Paperstead from the App Store or Google Play, the store's terms also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no responsibility for Paperstead or its support.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Paperstead after that means you accept the new terms.
